In tonight’s episode of “Chasing New Jersey,” host, Bill Spadea continued to hear about the journey of reporter and chaser, Hank Flynn, who decided to walk the length of Route 3 from its end in Clifton where it meets up with Route 46 to the other end in Secaucus, where it hooks up to I-495 toward the Lincoln Tunnel.
On the third and last part of Hank’s walk, he headed east and continued on through Secaucus and up the hill to Union City where he could overlook the traffic below to and from the Lincoln Tunnel.
While there he stopped at Opulent Edge Men’s Salon for a haircut and met Ramon Nunez, who operates the shop on 32nd Street, in the heart of Union City. After leaving there he continued on through Weehawken where he saw the helix leading to the Lincoln Tunnel. He met up with Paula Crossen, a Weehawken resident whose back porch overlooks the Lincoln Tunnel entrance and a view of the New York skyline.
What Hank got out of his journey, was the backbone of New Jersey belongs to the people. From the Holy Face Monastery, to the Tick Tock Diner, on to Bareli’s Restaurant, to the barber shop, to Paula in Weehawken; New Jersey is a million different worlds, and Route 3 is the spine that runs through this awesome Garden State.
Thanks Hank, for a distinct perspective of one of the highways, viewers will now see in a different light, thanks to this episode of “Chasing New Jersey.”
