On tonight’s episode of “Chasing New Jersey,” the entire team of Chasers are relentlessly trying to help solve the murder of 19-year-old Livingston resident, Brendan Tevlin. Brendan was killed on June 25, and found in his SUV in a parking lot after leaving a friend’s house about 11:30 p.m. According to Heavy, he texted his mother that he was on his way home after playing video games with his friend.
However, he never made it, as he was shot multiple times in West Orange at the intersection of Northfield Avenue and Walker Road around midnight. His body was discovered in the Jeep Liberty he had been driving, in a parking lot of an apartment complex about a mile east on Northfield Avenue. The motive for the attack is still unknown.
Authorities have been hunting for the killer or killers responsible ever since. Authorities today increased the reward to $25,000 for information leading to the killer or killers.
At Tevlin's funeral, prayers were offered not just for the deceased, but also for law enforcement agencies working to apprehend his killer or killers. Earlier today those agencies increased the reward total to $25,000 for information leading to the attackers.
Today was his funeral, where over 1,000 people were in attendance at St. Philomena’s Church in Livingston, including Chaser Sibile Marcellus. Brendan was baptized, made his Holy Communion and Confirmation in this church, now it was the place where his funeral mass was held.
Chaser Rohan Mohanty spoke with author of “The Criminal Investigative Function,” and crime expert Joe Giacalone, who has been following this case too. Joe advised viewers that in a case such as this, where the victim is an upstanding citizen, the police want to know more about his friends and associates. He feels that there may be secrets that they know, and may be afraid to disclose. Hopefully, they may be releasing more information in the near future as stated on this especially sad episode of “Chasing New Jersey.”
