Chasing celebrities though Las Vegas at the 2013 CES

Seen Snooki, Tim Tebow, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Ludacris, Dr. Oz, Carrot Top, Arianna Huffington or Danny DeVito recently? If so, you must be in Las Vegas.

Entertainers, manufacturers, retailers and analysts are all making their way to Las Vegas for the 2013 International CES (Consumer Electronics Show.) Covering a record amount of space this year, CES will open with more than 1.87 million net square feet of exhibits covering entertainment, photo, video, computers, and communications devices of every type.

Events kicked off today with specialty conferences like Storage Visions, being held across from the convention center in the Riviera Hotel and Casino. Leaders from entertainment and storage manufacturers discussed the increased need of faster and larger storage to satisfy today’s content producers. [Read more about the Storage Visions show here.}

More than 20,000 new products are scheduled to be debuted at this year’s show. In order to promote their products, many manufacturers are bringing well known celebrities to perform or for “meet and greats”.

Danny DeVito, an actor – but also a filmmaker and acknowledged technology nut, will be appearing on a panel at the Panasonic booth discussing the intersection of technology and the entertainment industry. Read some interesting facts about the gazillion bits of digital data being created by the movie industry here.

Carrot Top will appear at the Gibson Guitar tent – just one many performers scheduled there.

Snooki will be appearing at the Zilos/iHip booth.

Tim Tebow will introduce the “Tim Tebow” line of gear at the SOUL Electronics booth. SOUL will also throw an afterparty hosted by Chris “Ludacris” Bridges at the TAO Nightclub.

Drs. OZ, Gupta and Arianna Huffington will each be speaking at the Digital Health Summit.
