17-year-old Chase Elliott, son of 1988 NASCAR Cup Series champion Bill Elliott, will make his Camping World Truck Series debut for Hendrick Motorsports at Martinsville Speedway, part of a schedule that includes nine Truck Series races and five ARCA Racing Series races.
Aaron’s will be Elliott’s primary sponsor for both series, and Lance McGrew will continue to serve as his crew chief in both series. The opportunity for Elliott to compete in Truck Series events came at the end of last season, when NASCAR announced a change to the minimum age requirement for Truck Series races at road courses and tracks under 1.1 miles, allowing 16- and 17-year-old drivers to compete.
Elliott will compete in Truck Series races at Martinsville, Rockingham Speedway, Dover International Speedway, both races at Iowa Speedway, Bristol Motor Speedway, Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in Ontario and Phoenix International Raceway. He will also races in both ARCA Racing Series events at Pocono Raceway, plus Kentucky Speedway, Road America and New Jersey Motorsports Park.
