Chase away the winter blues at Painesville's Winter Carnival & Chili Cook-off

If you are looking for a winter event that features lots of family-friendly seasonal, fun activities or you just really love chili, then you are invited to the 9th annual Winter Carnival and Chili Cook-off in Painesville, Ohio on Saturday, January 26. Painesville, Ohio is located 33 miles from Cleveland and it is approximately a 40 minute drive.

Painesville Winter Carnival Taking place at Veteran's Park and at the Painesville Senior Center from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m., activities at the Winter Carnival include professional ice carving demonstrations, snowflake identification, snow castle building, kids' crafts and a birthday party for General Paine.

Chili Cook-off Also taking place from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 26 at the Painesville Senior Center is the 9th annual Chili Cook-off featuring a variety of contestants. Visitors can sample as many chilies a they would like for free. Last year there were 21 contestants and 21 chilies to sample. If you would like to vote for your favorite, you can obtain 3 vote tickets for a donation of $1. Proceeds from the Chili Cook-off will benefit the United Way of Lake County.

Admission to the Winter Carnival and to the Chili Cook-off is free.
