Charter schools are a big part of President Obama’s Race to the Top challenge to improve education, so Examiner.com has developed the Examiner National Charter Schools Directory.
The directory is a collaborative resource developed by more than 50 local and national Examiners throughout the country. It is designed to help families easily find charter schools in their area and provide an online resource of websites for readers interested in the topic.
You can also check out the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools, the Center for Educational Reform and the Florida Charter Schools Alliance websites for more information.
There are currently 4,600 charter schools in 40 states, including Florida. I previously published a list of north Florida charter schools. This list covers central Florida. The schools are listed alphabetically within county. If a county is not listed, then there are currently no charter schools in that county. If you click on the county name, it will bring you to the district website.
