Charter Jargon: Authorizer
Authorizer
Authorizers are often called sponsors in Ohio, but authorizers in most other states. These entities are responsible for the monitoring and oversight of the charter schools with which they have a contract. Authorizers also provide some technical assistance and can take action against failing schools.
