The D.C. Public Charter School Board has teamed with Fight for Children to provide free educational sessions for school principals, assistant principals, and other school leaders. Called "Ahead of the Curve" the first conference takes place on Tuesday, May 13th and is on the highly relevant topic of implementing the Common Core standards. The all-day event will include speakers from the Office of the State Superintendent of Education, NewSchools Venture Fund, and local charter schools. Watch for other meetings in the series in the near future.

Fight for Children continues its strategic support of education reform in the nation's capital that includes the Quality Schools Award, and the Joe's Champs teacher training program in early childhood education. I recently interviewed Michela English, Fight for Children's president and CEO.
