The Beatles Bootleg Recordings 1963,” the iTunes only release which was released in mid-December with no advance announcement, made its debut in the Billboard 200 chart Dec. 27, the magazine announced Friday in a later-than-usual week update for the Christmas holidays. The album made its first appearance on the chart at #172 amid amid a chart full of holiday releases by everyone from Bing Crosby, Elvis Presley, Beyoncé and Justin Bieber. Billboard.biz reported the digital album sold 7,000 copies.

It wasn't the only Beatles-related release on the Billboard chart this week. In its sixth week on the Billboard 200, “On Air: Live at the BBC, Volume 2” is currently at #55, up from #64 last week. Paul McCartney's “NEW” is at #60, up from #98 the previous week in its 10th week on the chart.

"The Beatles Bootleg Recordings 1963" wasn't listed on the UK Official Charts top 100 albums for the week dated Dec. 28, which showed “On Air” at #60, down one spot in its sixth week listed. Paul McCartney's “NEW” was also not listed. The UK chart will be updated on Sunday.

On the iTunes chart of its 100 most popular rock albums, “The Beatles Bootleg Recordings 1963” currently sits at #33. But it's not the most popular Beatles album on the system. That distinction belongs to “1,” which is currently at #11.

In other chart news, Paul McCartney dominated Billboard's list of “Hot Tours” for the year with revenue of more than $40.6 million from the final leg of the Out There! Tour in Japan.

The Beatles will release a boxed set of their American albums, “The Beatles: The U.S. Albums,” in January. A sampler will be released to promote the set.
