Charlotte’s Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar wraps up the competition

Residents of Mecklenburg County know that Charlotte has a treasure in the Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar. Yes, the name of the restaurant is a mouthful, but a delicious one.

This trendy spot is nestled close to the Southpark Mall, but certainly stands alone. Whether you choose to dine inside amidst the colorful atmosphere with the large aquarium bathing the bar in tranquil blue light or gather with friends on the patio, you’re sure to find plenty of visual stimulus. This hot spot has no shortage of lively patrons sampling the fare.

Patronage aside, the delectable repast is not to be outdone. Cowfish’s inventive menu offers countless gourmet entrees and appetizers. Coconut battered onion rings or lobster and crab spring rolls will keep your party elated while awaiting the main course. Parmesan truffle fries can only be classified as food for the gods. Fries, truffle, chive and cheese are combined perfectly and are still only considered appetizers.

The coup de grace for any mere mortal is the La Rose Roll. Shrimp, cream cheese and crunchy tempura flakes are rolled into a pink soy paper and topped with strawberry slices. The roll is drizzled with a signature sweet sauce and set to surround a martini glass of diced mango. This entire presentation is almost too beautiful to eat but cannot be resisted.

With jewels like the Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar it is easy to see why Charlotte is called the Queen’s City.
