Charlotte Humane Society holds Adopt-A-Bull party

Saturday April 10, 2010, the Humane Society of Charlotte is holding a special “Adopt-A-Bull” party, featuring pit bulls that are available for adoption.  The party is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the shelter’s parking lot,  located at 2700 Toomey Avenue.  During the month of April, pit bulls and pit bull mixes at the shelter have reduced adoption fees of $55 instead of the normal $110 adoption fee.

At the party Saturday, the shelter staff and volunteers will be on hand to educate people about pit bulls and myths of the breed, which prevent many people from adopting the dogs. Many people don't know anything about Pit Bulls other then what they see in the news.  They are wonderful dogs and deserve a chance for a new life and home. Please take the time to let people know and visit the shelter to see the pets they have to adopt.

Assistant Executive Director Kristi Perman said in a news release, “We sincerely hope that by enlightening potential adopters about the benefits of this loving breed, new homes will be found for these wonderful dogs,”
