The 7th Annual Herb Festival will be held this week, and Master Gardeners will be available for questions in the Charlotte Farmers Market. There will also be an opportunity at UNCC for your teenagers to learn more about nature journaling. Don't miss these upcoming events!
UNCC Botanical Gardens: Nature Journaling workshop for children ages 10 - 15. Kathy Zimmerman will lead children in observing nature and using drawing as a means of recording their observations. Bring pencils and a sketchbook to the workshop and enjoy learning to record your observations about plants and nature. Cost is $40 per child, and registration is required. The class will be help on Saturday, April 14th, from 9:00 am to noon and Sunday, April 15th from1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Cabarrus County Master Gardener Volunteer Association: The 7th Annual Herb Festival to will held at the Piedmont Farmers Market, April 14th from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. More than 90 vendors will bring gardening and herb related products. The Piedmont Farmers Market is located at 518 Winecoff School Rd, Concord, NC. Charlotte Farmers Market, 1801 Yorkmont Rd. in Charlotte: "Ask a Master Gardener" on Saturday, April 14th. Learn about growing your own food and the benefits of buying locally grown fruits and vegetables. Kristin Davis of the Mecklenburg County Extension service will also be at the Farmers Market to discuss the Summer Preservation Classes that will be provided by the Extension Service this summer. The Master Gardeners will be in the Greenery shop.
Mooresville Public Library: Caring for Annuals and Perennials workshop will be offered free to the public on April 9, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm in the Selma Burke Room. For more information or directions, see the Mooresville Public Library site.
