Monday, January 30th, 2012: Paws for Reading begins at 7 PM. This event gives children the opportunity to read to a certified therapy dog. The event will take place at University City Regional Branch Library, 310 E W T Harris Boulevard.

Tuesday, January 31st, 2012: The Mint Museum offers a free evening with North Carolina Pottery. From 6 PM until 9 PM visitors may enjoy a tour, demonstrations and music. Details are available on their site.

Thursday, February 2nd, 2012: Groundhog Day in Charlotte will be fun for adults as well as children. Visit the Paw Paw Nature Trail at Charlotte Nature Museum at 1658 Sterling Road in Charlotte at 4 PM to view Queen Charlotte checking for her shadow. Friday, February 3rd, 2012: Don’t miss the America’s Got Talent auditions at the Charlotte Convention Center, 501 South College Street in Charlotte. Registering on the website is a must for anyone interested. Auditions will be held from 10 AM until 10 PM.

Saturday, February 4th, 2012: Don’t miss the UNC Charlotte 49er Gold Rush 5K Run/Walk. The event requires registration. Please view their website for details.
