Charlotte Bobcats trade Hakim Warrick for Josh McRoberts of Orlando Magic

A Charlotte Bobcats trade went down Thursday (Feb. 21) as Josh McRoberts was acquired from the Orlando Magic. According to a report on the deal, the Bobcats will send Hakim Warrick to Orlando to complete the transaction.

McRoberts could immediately provide some valuable minutes for the bobcats, even though he wasn't seeing as much action for the Magic as he should have. He was getting pushed down in the rotation recently, but could offer the Bobcats some good size in the low post.

As for Warrick, this is the second time he has been traded this season. Charlotte acquired him from the New Orleans Hornets earlier in the season and he had been contributing a lot right after the acquisition. His minutes have gone down a lot recently, though, making him expendable in a trade like this.

This Charlotte Bobcats trade might seem like a wash for some NBA fans, but it simply appears like a deal to shake up the respective rosters a little bit. Both players are free agents at the end of the regular season, likely meaning they could re-sign or held elsewhere, with that dependent upon how they finish out the season with their new teams.
