Charlize Theron never ceases to amaze me.
From being an ass kicker in “Aeon Flux” to the evil queen in “Snow White and the Huntsman” to even being a gold thief in “The Italian Job” it seems like she has done it all, but you don’t often see her in comedies.
This is about to change as Heat Vision is reporting today that Charlize is in final negotiations to star in Seth MacFarlane’s (“Ted”) upcoming western comedy “A Million Ways to Die in the West.”
MacFarlane will both direct, and star in, the comedy that centers on a farmer (MacFarlane) whose girlfriend leaves him after he chickens out of a gunfight. When he meets the wife(Theron) of a notorious outlaw who offers to teach him how to shoot, the farmer at first sees a chance to win back his love but slowly falls for the woman. Complications ensue when the outlaw returns and reclaims his woman.
I know from other things that Theron has a wicked sense of humor, and she has such a commanding presence on screen that this is just about as good as the casting can get.
Production is set to start in May for a 2014 release.
