Charlie Sheen receives praise for giving anti-drug speech to UCLA baseball team

Charlie Sheen, who's in rehab after a reported drug overdose, received applause and cheers after giving an anti-drug speech to the UCLA baseball team Feb. 10, 2011.

"Stay off the crack. Drink chocolate milk," Sheen, 45, told the college athletes. "Enjoy your moment. That's all I've got."

On Jan. 26, 2011, Charlie was hospitalized after an alleged 36-hour drug bender where he reportedly smoked cocaine every few minutes.

Baseball Coach Devised Workouts for Sheen

As a result, Sheen is now in a personalized drug rehab program where he is being monitored around the clock at his lavish L.A. mansion.

According to TMZ, Charlie and UCLA baseball coach John Savage have been friends for years, and Savage has devised a customized workout program to keep Sheen in shape while he's detoxing.

Savage had asked Charlie and MLB players Coco Crisp, Eric Davis, Brandon Watson and Milton Bradley to participate in batting practice with his college team on Feb. 10.

Charlie Once Had a Wicked Fastball

Surprisingly, Sheen was a pretty good baseball player when he was younger. Charlie, who was a pitcher on his high school team, once had an impressive fastball that topped out at 85 miles an hour.

Sheen also played a pitcher in the 1989 comedy Major League, where he received praise from critics for his realistic on-screen pitching.

Charlie's hit TV sitcom, Two and a Half Men, is currently on hiatus until his drug issues are under control.
