You know things are in a bad state, when Charlie Sheen is a better choice of parent. On Sep. 9 Wetpaint shares that Charlie is concerned that his ex and mother of his twin boys, Bob and Max, may regain custody of the kids when she has her December custody hearing.
Sources claim that Brooke Mueller has been in rehab getting clean, again, from her crystal meth addiction, an addiction she's had most all her adult life. She has been doing well in therapy and stands a good chance of getting custody when she goes back to court. Charlie doesn't think that the court would give him custody because of his own troubled past with the law, however he has the boys every weekend while they have been living and going to school from Charlie's ex-wife's home, Denise Richards. Charlie and many others think that Richards' home is the best place for the boys because they are with their sisters and Denise has stepped in several times, upwards of 20 times, to care for the kids when their biological parents couldn't.
Charlie hopes that the court will see that the boys are healthy, safe, and in good care with Denise Richards and that they will keep things as they are, with visitation rights until Brooke can prove that she is stable and capable of staying clean once outside in the real world. In most cases, when Mueller has relapsed, she left the twins int he care of their nanny or maid until someone stepped in. Brooke Mueller has been arrested several times for her addiction before and after having the twins.
Sources close to the family say;
She [Brooke] has impressed social workers from the Los Angeles County Department of Children & Family Services. Quite remarkably, given how low she has been, Brooke is now on track to get the boys back. The goal of CPS is always for reunification of families because the belief is that it always better for a natural birth parent to be the primary caregiver.”
However, it seems that this is not one of those cases when being with a birth parent is in the best interest of the children.
