Christmas day was not so jolly for the Two and a Half Men star, as Charlie Sheen was arrested early this morning. According to TMZ, police responded after a 911 call was made by Sheen’s wife, Brooke Mueller, around 8:34 a.m. Police then arrived at their Aspen, Colorado home and arrested Sheen for felony second degree assault, felony menacing, and criminal mischief, a misdemeanor.
An ambulance arrived on scene, but the alleged victim was not transported.
Sheen is expected to remain in jail until his court hearing listed for Monday, but the police department is trying to find a way to speed up his release.
The issue, however, is how the altercation really occurred. Sources claim that Mueller made the 911 call claiming Sheen assaulted her, but another source is claiming that Sheen told the law enforcement that Mueller was the aggressor and he was just fending her off.
The typical he said she said story never leads to a good outcome. Could a divorce be a way the pair starts the New Year?
Sheen and Mueller were married in May of 2008 and welcomed their twin girls less then a year later in March of 2009. It was the third marriage for Sheen, who recently divorced his second wife, fellow actress Denise Richards, in 2006.
While Sheen does not have any past incident of domestic violence, he did accidentally shoot his then-fiancé Kelly Preston, in 1990. Sheen proposed to Preston in 1989 after living together for over a year. The relationship ended shortly after Sheen shot Preston in the arm, which required stitches.
Update: Sheen was released from jail Friday night, after posting an $8,500 bond. The actor is due back in court on Feb. 8
