Charlie Sheen and his ex-wife Brooke Mueller have been struggling with legal issues and drug addiction for the past couple of years now, and because of it, their twin sons, Bob and Max, have been tossed around to a handful of different people including Brooke's brother and Charlie's ex-wife, Denise Richards.
Although that arrangement seemed to be working for a while, Denise recently backed out and now, after the courts discovered that the Muellers may not have been completely honest when it came to Brooke's treatment, the boys are in jeopardy of being placed in foster care.
"There is a very real possibility that Bob and Max could be placed in foster case because evidence was also uncovered regarding their temporary guardian, Scott, that is riddled with glaring differences in version of events," a source close to the situation tells Radar Online on December 19. "The department is taking this very seriously, and are considering recommending the boys be placed in foster care, pending the outcome of the investigation."
The exact details regarding the alleged lies about care haven't been released, but sources involved with the case claim the information will be quite shocking to hear and will likely change the case drastically.
"Charlie can’t get custody of the boys, even if he were to have round the clock nannies because of his past behavior," the source explains. "Brooke’s parents won’t be considered. It’s such a sad situation, but the safety and well-being of the boys comes first. Such drastic action wouldn’t be taken unless it was necessary, and sadly, it is."
While placing Bob and Max in foster care may be drastic, it might also be exactly what they need -- and what their parents need. After all, being able to party and live without responsibility while others care for their children, allowing Charlie and Brooke to see them whenever they please is only enabling the situation.
Hopefully, this will give Charlie and Brooke the kick in the butt they need to get their acts together for the sake of their boys.
