You have been interviewing for weeks. All of the candidates are starting to run together. You want to get the best person in for the job, not just another warm body in an empty seat. You're trying to remember candidates that stood out. Suddenly two come to mind. You bring them in for final interviews. Who would you pick? (see infographic).
But actually, this is a serious, newsworthy question. It actually makes you wonder how desperate people are and how bad the economy is when over 90,000 people clicked on Charlie Sheen's job post via Twitter. Charlie Sheen's team, aka #TeamSheen is looking for a #TigerBloodIntern to be his social media intern for the summer. The company sponsoring the paid internship is Internships.com.
According blogger Nancy Brown, if you were one of the 74,000 applicants to submit your resume a few weeks ago during round 1, and one of the 5,000 people who made it to round 2, and now one of the 50 people to make it round 3, your deadline is this Friday. The task? Submit a 2 minute video answering one of three interview questions:
- If you were the Social Media Director for a major humanitarian aid organization, how would you create awareness and raise money via social media in the aftermath of a global disaster?
- In your opinion, what is the best company using social media today and why?
- How would you advise a candidate running for public office to leverage social media in his or her campaign for election?
How would you answer these questions in an interview? Do you think you have what it takes?
