The roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele has officially been cast.
James announced the news via Twitter stating "I am delighted to let you know that the lovely Dakota Johnson has agreed to be our Anastasia in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey." Moments later she revealed that the Sons of Anarchy actor would play the coveted role of Christian Grey.
"The gorgeous and talented Charlie Hunnam will be Christian Grey in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey," she wrote. Hunnam’s announcement came mere minutes after it was announced that Johnson will play the female lead.
Hunnam previously starred in Pacific Rim, Children of Men, Cold Mountain, and currently stars in the FX biker drama Sons of Anarchy.
Johnson, the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, has starred in 21 Jump Street, The Five-Year Engagement, and has a role in the upcoming Need for Speed.
Fifty Shades of Grey follows the racy relationship between college student Anastasia Steele and 27-year-old billionaire Christian Grey.
Directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, Fifty Shades of Grey will be released on Aug. 1, 2014.
