The following is a Q&A with Masie Barefoot-Judson:
William Hunnell: What is Barefoot Yoga’s mission statement?
Masie Barefoot-Judson: We believe that Yoga is for everyone….plain and simple. Whether you’re a newbie or have practiced for years; we are committed to offering a variety of yoga classes to meet your needs and to provide guidance, encouragement, and wisdom along the way.
WH: You are located in what is referred to as ‘Park Circle’…why did you choose that particular location?
MBJ: We look to nestle in Park Circle as it is having revitalization and a come back. I personally live here so I wanted to help the community vibe that was already flourishing.
WH: If you could give a person just one piece of advice, in one sentence, about Yoga what would that be?
MBJ: The biggest misconception about yoga is that you have to be flexible, fit and flawless to be "good"; drop your expectations and be open to the possibilities.
WH: There are numerous ‘styles’ of Yoga. What style(s) do you practice and teach at your studio?
WH: What you would like folks to know about your studio and the practice held there?
MBJ: We really are dedicated to our student’s yoga practice and guiding their advancement in a small, community-orientated facility. We want everyone to feel comfortable and offer group and private classes. We also offer massage therapy, in house, as well as, salon services, all on appointment basis.
Stop by and get your asana (AH-sah-na) on. Barefoot Yoga Studio hosts an average class size of five to ten people consisting of a mixture of folks ranging from 20 to 60 years of age.
