Charles Smith of Washington State makes some seriously delicious and affordable wines. Mr. Smith's representative, Betsy Bolling, was in town last summer and led a selected tasting of the winery's portfolio.
If you were at that sit down tasting with Ms. Bolling and her local partner in wine, Toni Bertucci Ashe, at the Wine Bar, you know how much fun it was to taste the Charles Smith/K Vintners wines with someone as knowledgeable and energetically upbeat as this dynamic duo.
Charles Smith and his team don't take themselves all that seriously (witness their funky labels!) but they are truly serious about what goes into the bottle. This Wednesday they give a return performance featuring new releases in the Charles Smith/K Vintners line-up:
