The Charles M. Schulz Museum is located at 2301 Hardies Lane, in Santa Rosa, California. Schulz, a former Sebastopol resident, is the creator of Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and the rest of the Peanuts gang. The museum provides a location to view the works of Charles M. Schulz as well as provide opportunities for artists to learn about cartooning, theater, and other children's authors. The museum opened on August 17, 2002.
To celebrate the 9th anniversary of the opening of the Charles M. Schulz Museum, visitors will receive free admission and ice cream on Thursday, August 11 from 5 pm through 8 pm. Another important museum date will be on Sunday, August 28 at 1 pm. On that date, author and illustrator Mo Willems will be at the museum. Willems is the creator of the fictional characters Knuffle Bunny, Pigeon, Cat, Elephant, and Piggie. Willems will be reading from his books and will also provide a drawing demonstration. Free ice cream will also be available from Cold Stone Creamery.
Mo Willems books are available for purchase online from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Powell's. His books can also be purchased at independent bookstores like these northern California ones.
