Charles's Legacy - Donor Dash 2014 to be held Sunday, April 13

The 19th Annual Dash for Organ and Tissue Donor Awareness will be held Sunday, April 13, 2014.
The race helps increase awareness and raise money for organ and tissue donation, highlights the success of transplants and raises money to help support public awareness campaigns that take place throughout the year. Additionally, it will support the Gift of Life Family House, which is a hospitality house for transplant patients and their families.

Locally, the team Charles's Legacy has been assembled by the family and friends of the late Charles Grugan, a graduate of Archbishop Carroll High School. Charles was the victim of a drug overdose in October 2011. He was 33 years old. Charles donated his organs to the Gift of Lift Donor Program and three people were given another chance at life as a result. Charles's family learned about the Donor Program and created Charles's Legacy to remember Charles, to help those struggling with addiction and to educate others about organ donation. You can register to be an organ donor here.

Check out the Facebook page for Charles's Legacy, and consider donating or becoming a part of the team for the 3k walk, 5k or 10k run on April 13.
