Charles Darwin would play with Forced Adaptation from 'Gatecrash'

Forced Adaptation is one of the newest Green cards from Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expert "Magic: The Gathering" expansion set "Gatecrash." Featured in the "Simic Synthesis" intro pack, Forced Adaptation is a subtle yet powerful common enchantment that Charles Darwin would approve of and play with, had he been a "Magic: The Gathering" player.

Like Bioshift, Forced Adaptation can help play a pivotal role in Simic Evolve decks. Forced Adaption allows you to quickly ramp up your mana production when enchanted on Gyre Sage, letting you quickly cast massive threats or spells such as a game ending Biomass Mutation.

Forced Adaptation makes a great Aura to cast on Fathom Mage, allowing you to draw an additional card during each of your upkeeps. You'll be able to amass a large amount of counters on Simic Manipulator over a short period of time and be able to steal your opponent's creatures several turns faster than normal. Forced Adaptation also works well on other creatures that care about +1/+1 counters like Primordial Hydra or Predator Ooze.

While Forced Adaptation can slowly make any creature into in sizable threat, it works best in a deck packed with cards that revolve around +1/+1 counters. Forced Adaptation can be particularly interesting when enchanting a Ghave, Guru of Spores or Skullbriar, the Walking Grave. If you're playing black in a deck filled with +1/+1 counters then you'll also want to throw in Corpsejack Menace.

How will you use Forced Adaptation?
