Charles Barkley had some choice words for LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony recently. Barkley talked about his top five NBA players of all-time, as well as his thoughts on Anthony and his intent to head to free agency at the end of the season. According to a report from Tuesday (Oct. 29), the TNT color commentator and star of "Inside the NBA" was very candid in his answers about many league issues.
When going over the best basketball players of all time, the NBA hall of famer stated, "I have him there. But he can't get any higher than where he is. I have Michael [Jordan] at No. 1. Oscar [Robertson] at No. 2. Then Wilt [Chamberlain], Kareem [Abdul-Jabbar] and [Bill] Russell. I have Kobe [Bryant], LeBron, Tim Duncan, Jerry West and Elgin Baylor after that. Those are my top 10."
That's a pretty respectable top 10 list, especially with all the titles that players in there have accrued. He went on to state that he feels James could get to No. 6, but that he will never crack the top five. There are probably quite a few NBA fans that agree with these latest Charles Barkley comments, especially since a lot of people have not forgiven James for "The Decision" still.
As for Anthony, Barkley ripped into him for making statements about wanting to test free agency because of how much he had talked up wanting to come to New York. Anthony has placed the Knicks in a very tough spot because of that, even though he could end up re-signing with them anyway.
