While the downtown streets at this year's 25th Annual Mount Dora Craft Fair will come alive with artisans from all over the country, there will be another often overlooked group taking up temporary residence as well; a group of unsung heroes who strive to make this a better community for all who live and visit beautiful downtown Mount Dora. Worthy of a little bit of our time, these benevolent organizations on special invitation from the Mount Dora Village Merchant's and Business Association will be sharing their causes with all those who stroll along the streets. Discover how these chartable groups affect the lives of neighbors near and far as you explore the treasures of the fair.
Below is a list of the organizations who were invited to attend. Read more about how they help the lives of so many people around the world. Among the many, will be the Big Red Bus who will accept blood donations on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. – so it's time to give the gift of life – donate blood today.
- Florida Lakes Symphony Orchestra based in Lake County is a not-for-profit orchestra comprised of over 60 musicians from around the world who now call Florida home. Don't miss the special concert on Saturday, October 24.
- Friends of Ice House support the local productions at the Ice House Theatre in Mount Dora.
- Lake Cares Food Pantry whose mission is to feed the body, educate the mind and lift the spirit, helps all those in need of food!
- Lake County Quilters Guild's mission is to educate and increase the awareness of the art of quilt making in the local community.
Central Florida Blood Center – The Big Red Bus will roll into town and will be accepting donations from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday only. Don't miss your chance to give the gift of life!- Lake Dora Area Women's Club supports women who play a roll in making our community a better place to live.
- Mount Dora Lions Club is committed to establishing programs locally and around the world, by providing books, medicine, youth-programs, education and countless others to enhance the lives of neighbors around the world.
- Mount Dora Middle School strives to provide quality education for our 6th-8th grade students with a well-balanced curriculum of academics and extra-curricular activities.
- City of Mount Dora Water Department is committed to improving and conserving our most precious of resources – water.
- Kiwanis Club of Mount Dora works to revitalize the neighborhood, establish youth-organizations, tutor kids in need, build playgrounds and many other countless activities in an effort to create leaders of the children in our community.
- Eustis Service League supports any number of local organizations in this neighboring city to Mount Dora.
