In Asbury Park, the New Year kicks off with Jersey Shore restaurateur Marilyn Schlossbach hosting her third annual “Cooking with Marilyn and Friends,” a charitable series of monthly cooking demonstrations that will highlight the seasonal, vacation-inspired cuisine featured at her five dining locales.
The cooking demonstrations, which will begin at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception, will take place at Schlossbach’s oceanfront Langosta Lounge and include a six-course dinner with wine and cocktail pairings. Ten dollars from each class will be donated to a local nonprofit organization.
Inspired by Marilyn’s international travels, guests will be transported on a culinary journey. Following the demonstration and question and answer period, guests will enjoy the exquisitely prepared meal side-by-side with the restaurateur.
The date of each “Cooking with Marilyn and Friends” class, its corresponding culinary theme, as well as its charitable beneficiary is as follows:
- Wednesday, January 15: Comfort Cuisine; The FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties
- Wednesday, February 19: Italian Entertaining; Junior League of Monmouth County
- Wednesday, March 19: Spring Cooking with Cheese on Main, paired with whites, rose and sparkling wine; Purr’n Pooch Foundation for Animals
- Saturday, April 26: Cooking Healthy Meals for Kids; Ocean of Love
Tickets to “Cooking with Marilyn and Friends” are $65.00 per person and include the cooking demonstration, six-course dinner, wine and cocktails with $10.00 from each ticket donated to the evening’s beneficiary. Reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis. For further information or to reserve a ticket for “Cooking with Marilyn and Friends”, call 732-455-3275.
