Charges of public indecency dropped against local Anderson Township politician

A Hamilton County court dropped public indecency charges against local politician Kevin O’Brien, an Anderson Township Trustee.

Last May, a woman claimed that she offered O’Brien a ride home. She claims he placed his hand on her leg and then began masturbating. She then forced him to leave the car.

O’Brien has denied the charges. His attorney, John Issenmann, referred to Ohio Revised Code 2907.09 (A) (1), (A)(2) and (A)(3) in O'Brien's defense.

Issenmann said charges should be dropped because the alleged acts weren’t committed in the presence of anyone else.

O’Brien is in the final year of his term, which began in 2009. O’Brien didn’t comment on the charges after his case was dismissed. In his role as a trustee, O'Brien helped managed $35 million dollar budget. O’Brien is also no stranger to controversy. In December 2009, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported that O’Brien was involved in some legal issues regarding business ethics.

Before O’Brien was elected as a trustee, his stock brokerage license was permanently revoked for misappropriation of funds involving $378,000 involving a client’s account.
