One of the big dangers a team has to contend with following a big win is a letdown. With that in mind, will the San Diego Chargers leave winless Jacksonville on Sunday with a victory or heartache?
After topping AFC South leading Indianapolis this past Monday evening 19-9, the Bolts take the cross country journey to Florida, prepping for a meeting with the Jaguars.
While on paper this game looks like a mismatch, the Jags showed the NFL world last Sunday that they can be competitive at times. Although they dropped a 35-19 game in Denver to the unbeaten Broncos and Peyton Manning, the Jaguars more than covered the nearly four touchdown spread that had them a huge underdog in the Mile High City.
Back on home turf this Sunday, Jacksonville looks to get its first win of the season, a season that all but guarantees them of missing the playoffs once again.
Of concern to the Chargers will be a couple of key weapons on offense, namely eight-year running back Maurice Jones-Drew (297 yards rushing this season) and wide receiver Justin Blackmon. The latter caught 14 balls for 190 yards in the loss at Denver.
After this contest, the Chargers get their bye week, then head back to the East Coast a week later for a meeting with the Washington Redskins.
