Honor student William Edwards is the epitome of a well-rounded, hard-working high school senior and a deserving winner of the first ‘Character Counts’ Award. He maintains above average grades while acting as Brophy’s student counsel vice president, singing in the honors choir, and being a starter and captain of both the school’s football team and championship lacrosse team.
Fulton Homes and KTAR are proud to honor William with a $100 gift certificate to Just Sports, and the chance at winning a $5,000 scholarship at an awards banquet in May paying tribute to all 12 of the ‘Character Counts’ winners from the past year.
Every Tuesday a “Character Counts” segment will air on Sports Radio 620 during the Doug and Wolf Morning Show. Former NFL player Ron Wolfley and sports radio personality Doug Franz will discuss what builds great character in sports and the importance of good sportsmanship. Listeners will be invited to visit CharacterCountsAZ.com to nominate a local athlete who exemplifies great character through their actions. Each monthly winner – or “Good Sport” – will be interviewed on video by Ron Wolfley, and will be featured both on-air and online.
“The dedication and hard work William has demonstrated throughout all of the activities he participates in is truly commendable,” Doug Fulton, Fulton Homes CEO, said. “This program acknowledges the many young adults, like William, in our community who are excelling in both sports and in their own lives. Fulton Homes is proud to recognize good character in our young adults and the outstanding model of character they are exhibiting for others.”
The Character Counts program is another in a series of programs which include the Fulton Homes Noon Salute, Teacher of the Week, 2 Seconds is Too Long and Fence Patrol. For more on the Fulton Homes Character Counts program and others, visit www.fultonhomes.com.
