Chanticleer will conclude season with an all-Russian program

Next month Chanticleer will conclude its 36th season with its first all-Russian program, entitled Russian Dreams. For this occasion their director will be Elena Sharkova, a native of St. Petersburg and a frequent collaborator with Chanticleer. The program will range from early Orthodox chants to the twentieth century. Secular compositions will include works by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Mikhail Glinka. Liturgical works will include pieces by Sergei Rachmaninoff and Pavel Chesnokov.

The San Francisco performance of Russian Dreams will take place at 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 7. The venue will be Mission Dolores, located at 3321 16th Street at the corner of Dolores Street in the Mission. Ticket prices are $20, $40, and $50 and may be purchased online through a City Box Office event page.
