It’s February and that means Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. That would, you think, mean that a bunch of romantic movies will be hitting theaters soon. That may be what is happening next week, but this week it means a thriller and a comedy. At the same time, for those who are still interested in seeing the movies nominated for Academy Awards, there are a number of those films still in theaters.
Here are the movies coming out in theaters February 8, 2013:
Side Effects - Rooney Mara, Channing Tatum, Jude Law. A young couple in New York are trying to make a go at a successful life and marriage. The husband has just gotten out of jail, but he wants to make things right. His wife, meanwhile, has emotional and psychological issues. That’s when they set out to find her a new psychiatrist who then prescribes a new medication for her. The medication, however, seems to have some very dangerous side effects. For example, in a haze, she may have committed a very brutal murder. Rated R.
Identity Thief - Jason Bateman, Melissa McCarthy. Jason Bateman plays a man named Sandy who lives a very normal life, until the day he discovers that someone has stolen his identity and has been living the high-life using it. It turns out that a woman in Miami has been living her life by stealing other people’s identities, so Sandy sets out to Miami to bring her in himself in order to try and clear his own name. It then becomes a road trip of over 2,000 miles as he tries to bring the false Sandy back to Denver. Rated R.
