Chanel showed their spring/summer haute couture collection during Paris Fashion Week today and unfortunately there were not any handbags on the runway. On the other hand, fashionable guests of Chanel’s haute couture runway show arrived with Chanel handbags which were from the current collection as well as vintage.
Guests of Chanel’s spring/summer 2013 haute couture runway show today included Laura Bailey, Diane Kruger, Hailee Steinfeld, Elodie Bouchez, Ines de la Fressange, Clemence Poesy, Rita Ora and Amira Casar. The majority of guests arrived in fall/winter ensembles carrying Chanel handbags, with a handful of guests carrying handbags by other designers.
The handbag style Chanel haute couture spring/summer 2013 guests chose to carry the most was the clutch. While a handful of Chanel’s guests carried shoulder bags, the overwhelming majority chose to carry small, daytime clutches. The daytime clutches spotted most often at Chanel’s haute couture runway show during Paris Fashion Week were hard box clutches and envelope clutches. The clutches were in neutral hues; as well as bright shades of cobalt and yellow.
The small, daytime clutches carried by Chanel’s haute couture guests signals a trend towards smaller handbags and the continuation of the current, daytime clutch trend which has been popular over the past few years.
