Looking lovely and cosmopolitan, one of China's most famous actress, Ziyi Zhang walked down the press line wearing a black Chanel knee high dress accented with ivory pearls for the Los Angeles screening of her new film "The Grandmaster."
As she arrived, at the Arclight Cinemas, paparazzi rushed to try to get shots of her arrival but it was the red carpet event photographers who were able to get the sleek posed shots on the press line that showed off her beauty and elegance.
However, while shooting the film, Ziyi told this reporter's affiliate Chris Trondsen of Pacific Rim Video and Front Row Features Wire that it was cold. "Wong Kar can pick anywhere he wants but picked this coldest place ever. After I shot the movie, my friend asked me to going skiing, I said "No. I don't want to. I don't want to go into the cold anymore."'
Based on the life of martial-arts master Ip Man, the man who trained Bruce Lee, Ziyi plays Gong Er, a woman who seeks to gain her family's honor by challenging Ip Man (played by Tony Leung Chiu Wai). Gong Er's fight with Ip Man is considered the epic fight of the film.
Ziyi Zhang dubbed the scene as "Love at first fight." She explains to Pacific Rim Video, the length it took to shoot the scene, "It's only part of the movie for three minutes, but it took three weeks to shoot and we prepared for six months for the different fight scene. I love the scene because its not only action but romance between them."
The film opens in limited run today in Los Angeles and New York.
