Resort 2013: Chanel (Photos)

The Chanel Resort 2013 showing was a mirage of denim couture, retro office chic meets grunge and contemporary royale. The collection featured a myriad of unique designs that included a flared dresses, matching separates, jumpsuits,

For the denim couture, Chanel employs unique construction for the fabric by featuring ruffled necklines, peplum waistlines, military inspired blazers and skater dresses. The classic tweed Chanel dress has taken a grunge approach with tattered hemlines, full-lengthy bulky skirts, and mesh cutouts-a cross between classic and shock value.

For its royale set Chanel featured the popular baroque design plastered on princess and a-line silhouettes, one piece swim suits and semi off the shoulder gowns.

Although the outfits were a highlight in it of itself, accessories also stood its ground. Standout pieces for the collection included a leather quilted flowerpot , pearl shaped buttons encrusted in gold overlay, bold and vivid statement necklaces, signature chain linked quilted Chanel cross body bags, wide brimmed hats and metallic and solid colored flatforms featured throughout the collection.

Chanel Resort 2013 collection was an eclectic variance to traditional Chanel. This collection was more edgier, more flamboyant and perhaps heading into a new direction that hints at signature Chanel but with a new age spin.
