The Pre-Fall 2010 Chanel collection preview event was this evening in Shanghai, as Karl Lagerfeld swept 800 guests off their feet onto a boat for an evening in fantasy land. The theme was designed to portray Lagerfeld’s vision of Coco Chanel visiting China, and was appropriately named “Paris Shanghai, A Fantasy.” Lagerfeld emphasizes the importance that Coco Chanel never visited China, so the collection is based on an imagined idea of Shanghai, and nothing close to reality.
The collection is set to release in Chanel boutiques worldwide in May.
