At the La Grenouille in Midtown New York City, 23-year-old star of “Gossip Girl” Ms. Blake Lively arrived wearing a white Chanel minidress, where Chanel had organized a dinner to introduce her as the new face of the French fashion house’s Mademoiselle handbag ad campaign.
Since relocating to New York a few years ago, Ms. Lively has befriended designers; has been featured on three of Vogue’s covers, including the best-dressed special edition in January; and now she has been hand-picked for the Chanel campaign by the house’s designer, Karl Lagerfeld.
According to Lively she does not employ a stylist because “if someone else dressed me, it’s them interpreting me, but the truth is, people don’t know me.”
According to the New York Times designer Michael Kors, called Blake the “Triple S: Sporty, Sexy, Sophisticated.” He went on to stating “You can say she’s a California blonde, but she is very sophisticated and that’s a rare combo. It’s Lauren Hutton. It’s Farrah Fawcett. They don’t come along that often.”
This Gossip Girl has set her sights higher than just the Upper East side of New York City.
