Chandler Guerrette and Kristen Anderson highlight A/B girls roster

BANGOR---Chandler Guerrette turned in a performance last Friday evening that will be remembered for years to come.

Guerrette scored 33 points including 14 in the fourth quarter to lead the Presque Isle Wildcats to a come from behind 51-44 victory over Lake Region in the class B girls state championship game played at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, ME.

Guerrette will highlight the class A/B Eastern Maine girls roster in the Maine McDonald's senior all star game that will be played at 12:45 p.m. Saturday afternoon at Husson University.

Kristen Anderson from Leavitt high school will also be on the East squad.

Anderson will attend the University of New Hampshire this coming fall on a full basketball scholarship.

Guerrette and Anderson are two of the three finalist for Miss. Maine Basketball. The winner of that award will be announced Friday evening.

Guerrette will play with her teammate Megan Ireland in the McDonald's all star game. Ireland scored 12 points and hit two 3-pointers in the Wildcats state championship victory.

The last three female athlete of the week winners will be represented. Guerrette won it this past week.

Mallory Nelson from Mt. Ararat was named AOW on February 25th.

Jordan Knowlton led her Camden Hills Windjammers to tourney victories over Hermon and Oceanside and captured AOW on February 17th.

The rest of the A/B East girls team includes -Ashlee Arnold (Edward Little), Abbie Eastman (Oxford Hills), Gabby Foy (Mt. Blue), Denae Johnson (Bangor) and Josie Lee (Cony).
