Champions Online is an MMO based on the pen and paper RPG of the same name. With an extensive back story and an evolved role-playing system to rely on, Champions Online is being developed by the same people that brought us City of Heroes.
With a variety of environments from Millinium City, which is built on the ruins of Detroit, Lemuria, a completely underwater area, Monster Island, where you'll fight deranged monkies and radiation-breathing beasts, Champions Online will highlight a variety of environments for players to explore. You can even go to the Moon and fight off a galactic invasion!
Champions Online - Features
- A massive virtual world where you can be the superhero you want to be
- A points-based system that lets you create your own class of superhero
- The most customizable avatar system of any MMO to date
- Built from the ground up to be as easy to play on the Xbox 360 as the PC
Champions Online vs City of Heroes
Champions Online is like City of Heroes on steroids. With the same great customization of look and feel, Champions Online takes this even further by letting you fully customize your heroes powers. No more picking an archetype and being a 'tank' or a 'blaster' -- you design the hero you want to play!
Champions Online will also feature a more action-packed form of combat. City of Heroes was already action-oriented as MMOs go, but Champions Online will take this to a new level where you are constantly moving, firing off your powers, and actively blocking the freezing rays or fireballs coming at you.
