Networking is good anytime, especially during this holiday period. Keep in mind that it's always a good time to get to know like minded persons within the business community. You next job or contract in 2014 just may come from an acquaintance that you met at a holiday mixer. Don't forget to bring your business cards. Keep in mind the following tips to help you develop business relationships:
- Introduce yourself and keep your spill to 6 to 7 seconds.
- Inquire about the persons you met by asking a simple question such as, "What are your professional passions?" or simply, "What do you do?"
- Make sure you offer to help out in some way in the future for example, recommend their services to your company or to another who may need their service. Or you may want to recommend their services via Facebook or Twitter.
- Keep networking short and simple and move on to another person.
