Stacie Nevares, San Mateo resident and challenger for the San Mateo County coroner's office, has issued a letter inviting incumbent coroner Robert Foucrault to a debate.
Nevares, a former assistant coroner who works as an analyst for the UC-San Francisco Police Department, is running for the coroner's office on the June 8th primary election ballot.
Nevares platform is built on reaching out to the community and raising awareness on the role the coroner provides. If elected, she plans to initiate collaborative efforts with various local agencies including the police and fire departments.
Incumbent coroner Robert Foucrault, who has been the subject of an investigation and a lawsuit, has not yet responded to the offer from the challenger. If Foucrault accepts the offer to debate, a time and place would need to be established.
Candidates for coroner's office do not traditionally engage in debates.

She may call her former job "assistant Coroner", I prefer to call it "secretary".
San Mateo County has no position titles "Assistant Coroner". They have a Chief Deputy Coroner, Senior Deputy Coroner and Deputy Coroner, not one of which Ms. Nevares was employed as. She was an civilian Office Assistant who was tasked with answering phones and filing. But I guess you will write anything for your friends.
I want to hear from Ms. Picon since she mentioned her in her campaign. I understand Ms. Picon likes the Coroner much more then Ms. Nevares so lets ask her
