The Lake Worth Street Painting Festival is this weekend, it's the 18th Annual event and worth a trip from Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. The streets of quaint downtown Lake Worth will be covered with chalk art on Saturday and Sunday February 25 and 26. It's all free and open to the public.
Artists from all over come out to create fantastic works of art, all using chalk! The town's streets are literally shut down for this yearly event. Music and food are all part of the fun, too. It's a fun time for the whole family.
Featured artists include Tracy Lee Stum, Rod Tryon and Michael Las Casas. Watch them starting Saturday as they begin their creations and come back Sunday to see the completed masterpieces.
On the main stage, at the Cultural Plaza, in the heart of downtown, enjoy Rick Krive and The Circle and Fly By Night with Jim Hayward on Saturday and SAMM, Nicholas Marks and Switzer Trio take to the stage on Sunday. The Satellite Bistro, on Lucern Avenue at J Street has cool jazzy sounds, too both days from 2 to 5 pm.
At Children's Meadow, children of all ages may create their own works of art both days from 11 am to 4 pm. It's free for chidren under 12 years of age. Chalk and a small space to create thier work is provided.
There are many street vendors at the festival or enjoy the many restaurants in the downtown Lake Worth area.
