Chained to the Rocks is one of the newest cards "Theros" spoilers revealed today Aug. 31, 2013 during PAX Prime, from Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expert "Magic: The Gathering" expansion set "Theros." Revealed in a tweet by the Oracle of Theros, Chained to the Rocks is a powerful new rare white enchantment.

Enchantment - Aura (Rare)
Enchant Mountain you control
When Chained to the Rocks enters the battlefield, exile target creature an opponent controls until Chained to the Rocks leaves the battlefield. (That creature returns under its owner's control.)
The power to remove any opposing threat your adversary controls for just one white mana is astronomical. Although Chained to the Rocks isn't an instant, some ways it's more powerful than Swords to Plowshares. That's because your opponent won't gain any life when you exile their creature. The closest analogy is that Chained to the Rocks is a conditional Oblivion Ring.
Chained to the Rocks has several drawbacks. First, you'll need to be running Mountains in your deck in order to be able to even use it. In Standard this can be mitigated with Sacred Foundry. In formats like outside of standard you'll be able to run just one mountain and cards like Evolving Wilds to find it. Another significant downside to Chained to the Rocks is that when it leaves play your opponent will get their creature back.
How will you use Chained to the Rocks?
