Chad Hackenbracht will reunite with the No. 44 TriStar Motorsports team for Saturday's Nationwide Children's Hospital 200 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Mid-Ohio sports car course in Lexington to race at his home track and make his series road course debut.
"I'm looking forward to racing in my home state in front of family and friends," New Philadelphia, Ohio, native Hackenbracht said. "I have raced in Ohio before at Toledo Speedway, but I am really excited to race on a road course here. Road courses are fun to drive and to be a part of an inaugural event is pretty cool."
Saturday's race will be the first for the Nationwide Series at Mid-Ohio. Hackenbracht, though, recently raced at the track in a local event sanctioned by NASA. He recently tested at Virginia International Raceway in Alton, near Danville, in preparation for this weekend's event.
Hackenbracht has a total of four-career starts in NASCAR's Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series, with two of those coming in the Nationwide Series this year. Prior to this season, he raced full-time in the ARCA Racing Series for two seasons.
