Every year somewhere in the midst of the Chanukah holiday's Chabad usually has open to the public Chanukah candle lighting. Chabad Of Coral Springs has theirs at the Coral Springs mall in front of J C Penny's.
Children of all ages come to see the candle lighting ceremony, along with may adults, and seniors. This year it was spectacular with "Winn Dixie " as the host and free jelly doughnuts. I thought the idea was great and then the children had a show for their amusement, with spectacular, feats of amazing wizardry, and some children, volunteers.
The Mayor of Coral Springs and other dignitaries helped kick off the ceremonial candle lighting, along with honored guests. Judah Maccabee was there for the children for photograph taking and their amusement.
Rabbi Yankee Denburg and Rabbi Avram Friedman hosted the ceremony, a Rabbi Yankee Denburg told the children of a great Chanukah, Holocaust story of how a Jewish prisoner in a concentration camp managed to make a menorah out of an old shoe and some shoestring and preformed the blessing of Chanukah candle lighting , during one of the darkest times in Jewish history.
