Cessna 180 plane crashes at St. Louis airport (video)

Saturday night, a small private plane crashed at the St. Louis airports in Cahokia; the Cessna 180 touched down at 5:30 p.m. at the St. Louis downtown airport and one wheel came off the plane. The plane spun and the left wing dipped (as can be seen in the video below). The pilot and a passenger were aboard and were unhurt.

Fire departments responded and flushed spilled fuel. From a distance you could see the left wing of the plane was bent.

St. Louis airport Manager Bob McDaniel said that the way the pilot handled the mishap was good, "Seemed to be very calm, he did a good job. He did all the right things after the incident happened. For whatever reason on landing out of one fuel tank," said McDaniel.

The FAA said they will investigate the incident, even though it appears to be minor. St. Louis airports hut down the runway until 6:30 pm, but had a second runway open.
