Cesar Millan will be bringing his show to Costa Rica for the first time Saturday, January, 28, 2012. He will be appearing at 8:00 p.m. at the National Stadium. Tickets are currently on sale at Laboleteria and is priced between ₡9,000-₡35,000 ($16-$70).
Cesar Millan is a Mexican-born American dog trainer. Born in rural Culiacan, Mexico, he spent much of his early childhood on his grandfather’s farm in nearby Ixpalino, where he observed the behavior of the farm’s many dogs. He crossed into the United States in 1990 at the age of 21 knowing no English. He lived on the streets until he finally landed a job as a dog groomer where he was assigned the most aggressive dogs. He later came to the attention of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith who were impressed by his skills with dogs and started to refer him to their friends. Cesar Millan became a legal resident of the United States in 2000 and a citizen in 2009.
He is best known for his television series, The Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan. The show premiered in 2004 and now is broadcasted into 109 countries outside of the United States by National Geographic Television. In the first season, the show became cable network’s top rated series. Millan is also the co-author of six books, many of which are New York Times best sellers. In 2009, Millan introduced a monthly magazine also titled Cesar's Way. Cesar offers a full line of dog products which include organic dog food, health aids, olfactory toys, natural treats, leashes, ergonomic collars, and specially designed, breed-specific beds, among other items.
Cesar founded and runs the Dog Psychology Center in South Los Angeles. He specializes in aggressive out of control dogs and can demonstrate how to correct bad habits in dogs. He offers a magnificent show that combines an entertaining chat with live demonstrations of his techniques. To show how to modify dog behavior, Millan will use dogs from Costa Rica with behavior issues, and offer solutions.
