This is Lady Agnes turned into the animal shelter. She's got all the right stuff but Charlotte Mecklenburg Animal Control authorities were afraid she may not make it out of the shelter a second time. Thanks to some great networking, Agnes got a home again. She's a second time shelter rescue , a chance most other dogs will never get.
This female pit/boxer mix was first brought to the shelter in 2007 and was adopted immediately. She had found a great new home and for the past few years she has been a life saving companion as a seizure alert therapy dog with her own certification. Sadly the owner who cared for her so much, had to go into assisted living and poor Agnes was brought back to the shelter for her second time.
After sending out emails and looking into groups who work with therapy dogs, kennel supervisor Lori Todd got a pleasant surpise. Emails and phone calls started pouring in, responding to her call for help with Lady Agnes. She even heard from potential adopters as far away as New Jersey. Lady Agnes got placed with a family in Georgia who was in need of a therapy alert dog and will be happily doing her job once again.
